Roanoke Women take third, Men take fifth in ODAC Championships

Salem, VA--- Roanoke College hosted the ODAC Championship meets Saturday morning.  The women finished third with 75 points while the men finished fifth with 148 points.  Six Roanoke athletes finished in the top-25 at the meet.

 

On the women’s side, Maggie Moore (Roanoke, VA, Patrick Henry) led the Maroons for the sixth time this season.  She placed fourth overall with a time of 24:50.   Freshmen Caroline Casey (Richmond, VA, St. Margaret's) and Emily Reichenbach (West Newton, MA, Brewster Academy) finished close behind Moore as they placed 12th and 15th with times of 25:38 and 25:55 respectively.  Senior Elizabeth Mumaw (Berryville, VA, Clarke County) was the fourth woman to finish the race for the Maroons, finishing with a time of 26:12 in 21st place.  Diana Budreika (Haymarket, VA, Battlefield High) placed 23rd with a time of 26:24 soon after Mumaw.

 

Junior Josh Metz (Bear, DE, Charter School) led the Maroons on the men’s side with a time of 29:08.  Metz placed 20th overall.  Pat Fiske (Towson, MD, Gilman School) was the next runner across the finish line for Roanoke with a time of 30:04, in 29th place. 

 

The Maroons will continue on to the NCAA Southeast Regionals Nov. 14 in Greensboro, NC.
